An Elegy
A cadaver lay in front of me,
Pale, cold flesh,
Devoid of the life it once knew before,
So much so,
That it was a strange sight to see.
The tears start
As soon as my eyes see the body,
Unable to stop them,
I let myself weep,
It almost breaks my heart.
Dear Mr. McDermott,
And definitely Ryan too,
I hope God has a special place in heaven
So that when we die,
We show you that we never forgot.
Please forget us, not,
You will be missed.
And stay within our hearts
As well as within our minds
For there will be, for you, a spot.
